Tipu Sultan Summer Palace (Start and Finish Here)
Timings: 10AM – 6PM
What is/was it: The summer residence of Tipu Sultan, the former ruler of the Kingdom of Mysore.
Go Heritage Run Tip: The palace is smaller than the name would have you believe – plan to spend around an hour if you choose to visit.
Bangalore Fort (1KM away from the Start point)
Timings: 8.30AM – 5.30PM
Constructed: 1537 and renovated in 1751
What is/was it: Built by Kempe Gowda, the founder of Bangalore.
Avenue Road (1.5KM away from the Start point)
What is/was it: Located in Chickpet, a market area that has been in existence since the 16th century.
Go Heritage Run Tip: Stop by early morning to run through the flower market.
Balbrooie Guest House (4KM away from the Start point)
Timings: Not open to the public – but the exterior is visible as you run past.
What is/was it: The official residence of the Commissioners of Bangalore – including Sir Mark Cubbon, the chief commissioner of Bangalore.
Bangalore Palace (5KM away from the Start point)
Timings: 10.30 AM to 5.30PM
What is/was it: This palace – built in Tudor-style – is currently owned by the Mysore Royal Family.
